Preventive maintenance efforts have been underway for some time to monitor structural integrity of pipe and equipment in the process industries. In its most basic form a visual inspection is made to assess surface corrosion. Increasingly, electronic testing (ultrasonic, infrared, vibration, etc.) is employed, in addition to visual inspection, which typically requires that a transducer probe make contact with the pipe or equipment surface. Design Specs & Pricing
The use of inspection plugs on insulated pipe and equipment reduces both the expense of periodic testing access and the risk of increased corrosion.
